Yukon Art Society members are invited to submit original works in any medium inspired by the theme Blanket for our December 2019 Members’ Exhibition.
Blankets often signify warmth or shelter during winter months. They can be gifts, or heirlooms passed from generation to generation. A blanket can be a patchwork assembled from many sources, or even serve as a record of community histories and stories. References to these important objects even extend to other areas of our vernacular. In winter, we say that the landscape is blanketed in snow.
What feelings or ideas does the word "blanket" evoke for you?
Artists are invited to submit new works in any medium for this show: one large piece, two medium-sized pieces, or a few smaller pieces. If you have an idea that you feel fits the theme but are unsure if the size/dimensions are appropriate, please contact us.
All works must be available for sale and will leave the gallery upon purchase.
If you are interested in submitting work for the show please drop off your piece(s) before Saturday, November 30 at 5 pm. All work will be juried before display.
The exhibition opening will be on Friday, December 6th and we hope you will attend.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are all looking forward to seeing all of your creations!
