Introduction to Stone Setting

This beginning 4 hour course provides the fundamental techniques for the design and creation of handcrafted jewelry. you will learn how to size, texture, chase, file, form, silver solder with an acetylene torch, saw, drill, oxidize, hand polish, satin polish and follow safe studio practices. Your project will involve fabricating a bezel cup and setting a cabochon stone. We will work with sterling silver, fine silver, and semi-precious stones. Prepare to be adorned! Note: a variety of stones, to choose from, will be provided, and cost of materials is included. In this class you will make 1 rings; one sterling silver with a stone, or one sterling silver pendant with stone.
