Introduction to Macramé

Would you like to learn how to macramé home décor items for yourself or to give as gifts? In this introductory workshop, you will learn to tie the 4 key knots used in macramé. With this knowledge, you will be able to create more items by yourself at home, or participate in future workshops for more complex projects. You will learn a little about the history of macramé, about the variety of cords available and how to choose the best one for your future projects. Judy will demonstrate how to tie each knot and each participant will be provided with the materials necessary to practice each knot while creating a tiny plant hanger of their own.

This workshop is the next step for those who learned to tie macramé knots in Introduction to Macramé, or who already know how to tie 4 basic knots. With guidance from instructor Judy Tomlin, participants will macramé a 12” x 30” wall-hanging using two colours of recycled cotton cord.
