As summer arrives, and the days get longer, many of us look forward to spending more time in nature. Flowers are in bloom, migrating birds have returned, and our green spaces are green once again. Call for Exhibition Proposals: March 2024, Edge Gallery
Are you a Yukon or Atlin, B.C. resident looking to exhibit your artwork? Consider submitting a proposal to the Yukon Art Society. We are currently seeking proposals specifically for the Edge Gallery in March 2024. Please note that we will be putting out another call for exhibitions in the new year that includes a wider range of dates and gallery availabilities.
The deadline for consideration is Monday, January 8 2024.
Ceramics Symposium Input & Ideas
The Yukon Art Society is applying for Canada Council funding to host a Ceramic Symposium next summer/fall, and we want your input!
Call For Submissions: Rough Stuff: The Sketches Show
Process is progress. Our August exhibition celebrates the early stages. We want to see your ideas before they’re fully realized, so show us your starting lines.
We’re talking shapes scrawled on diner napkins, ideas scribbled on the backs of envelopes, landscapes spread out across the pages of your moleskines. We want maquettes and studies and sketches and rough stuff!
This show isn’t about the final product. It’s about the process of getting there.
The deadline to submit work for “rough stuff - the sketches show” is Saturday, July 29.
This exhibition will be on view from August 4 - 26 in the Edge Gallery with an opening exhibition on Friday, August 4 from 5pm - 7pm.
Please note that the work from this exhibition will not be for sale.

Call For Submissions: June Members' Exhibition
Yukon Arts Society members are invited to submit their work for our June Members’ Exhibition, ‘Here Comes the Sun’
Artists are invited to submit new works in any medium. Bring up to three pieces of two dimensional or three dimensional work to Arts Underground before Saturday, May 27 to participate in the show. All work will be juried before display. Your piece(s) should highlight the concept of summer in some way, whatever that means to you.
March 2023 Special Members' Meeting
In order to be in compliance with the new Societies Act, The Yukon Art Society will be holding a special general meeting via Zoom at 7pm on Tuesday, March 28th to adopt the new bylaws.
The Yukon Art Society will move to rescind its previous bylaws (last amended on September 24, 2020) and adopt the proposed bylaws.

Government of Yukon retires Created in the Yukon program

Dear Artists, Makers and Retailers, After 20 years, we have decided to retire the Created in the Yukon program and will no longer be offering the printed bags, stickers and price tags. This decision has been made in line with local and global responsibilities to reduce environmental impacts of packaging, and it complies with the Yukon government ban on single use bags.

On October 21, the Hon. Ms. McLean, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Ms. Van Bibber, Member for Porter Creek North, and Ms. Hanson, Member for Whitehorse Centre paid tribute to Yukon Art Society's 50th anniversary in the House of the Yukon Legislative Assembly.
