For this year’s wintertime members’ exhibition, Yukon Art Society Members are invited to submit works around the theme of dreams, fantasies, nightmares, and the imaginary.

Artists are encouraged to interpret this theme however they wish. It could be a scene from a dream you’ve had, a landscape you’ve visited and think about often, an imaginary creature, or even a colour palette that you feel suits the theme. These are just a few examples! If you’re unsure if your piece would fit the theme or size requirements, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

This exhibition will be on view in both the Focus and Edge galleries from December 4 - January 2

Artists are invited to bring the following:

Two-Dimensional/Wall Hanging Work
One large piece (bigger than 20” width or height)
Up to two medium pieces (10”x10” - 20”x20”)
Up to three pieces smaller than 10”x10”

Three-Dimensional Work
Up to two large pieces (must be able to fit on a plinth, max. 2’x2’)
Up to three small pieces (ie. cups, bowls, jewellery, clothing items)

If you decide to bring works across multiple mediums or sizes (ie. 1 large painting and 2 small jewellery pieces), a maximum of three pieces will be accepted for each artist.

The deadline to submit work for this exhibition is Saturday, November 28. Pieces must be at the gallery on or before this date to be included in the exhibition. All work will be reviewed by the curator before display to ensure it meets all our display guidelines and is ready to be safely hung.

All work intended to be hung on the wall must be framed, mounted on a panel, or have appropriate hanging hardware. Loose prints, paintings etc. will not be accepted. If your piece has special hanging instructions, or requires special screws/nails etc. please include a note in your form submission, and make sure to bring the hardware to the gallery with your piece.

All work must be available for sale and purchases will leave the gallery if sold. During our December exhibition, buyers are given the option to take their purchase from the gallery right away, so your piece(s) may not be be on view for the full month if sold.

When pricing your work, please note that the Yukon Art Society retains a 35% commission on all artwork sales. The curator reserves the right to re-price pieces that are not in line with market value and pricing.

Deadline
Please drop off your pieces no later than Saturday, November 28. The gallery closes at 5pm.

The exhibition will be on display from December 4 - January 2, with work also available to view and purchase in our online store. An opening reception will be held from 5-7pm on December 4 and we hope you will attend.
