YOUTH ART EXHIBITION

DEADLINE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

Arts Underground is hosting a Youth Art Exhibition to coincide with the Yukon Prize celebrations.

This exhibition will be on view from October 3 -18. Artwork must be at the gallery no later than Saturday, September 20 to be included in the exhibition. Arts Underground is located at 15-305 Main Street (the basement of Sports Experts). Our hours are Tuesday - Friday, 10am - 5pm, and Saturdays from 11am-5pm.

  • Ages for the Youth Art Exhibition are 13 - 18.

  • Artists are welcome to submit one piece of art each. This exhibition will not be themed, so youth can submit work they are most proud of, and all will be accepted – with the exception of any work that infringes on copyright (ie. using known comic characters, Disney characters, registered logos, etc) or work that is of an inappropriate theme for a youth exhibition (ie. portrays violence, substance use, etc).

  • Artwork must be brought to the gallery with a label which includes artist name, phone number, email address, title and medium of work, and price (if selling, see below)

  • Youth are welcome to have their work for sale, and Arts Underground will waive the commission fee for the exhibition. Youth are invited to discuss pricing with our Curator if they need some help.

  • Art must to be “ready to hang”, meaning:

    - Paintings are dry

    - If in a frame, there is hanging hardware securely attached to the frame.

    - If item is a sculpture/3D work and meant to hang on wall, ensure there is a hanging apparatus that can safely hold the weight of the piece.

    - Magnets can be used to hang sheets of paper if not framed (Arts Unnderground can supply magnets).

    - 3D, textile work, beading, etc is encouraged! We have busts and various display options for these.
