Join accomplished artist Virginia Wilson in an intermediate-level acrylic painting workshop. This workshop is designed to review the participant’s existing painting techniques and assist with methodologies that will help expand their artistic accomplishments. The focus of this workshop will be Painting Rocks in the Landscape.

There will be a review of participants’ colour palettes, compositions, and painting techniques, followed by practical sessions of painting rocks in the landscape, both up close and at distance.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with ideas relating to their individual painting process and with studies to use to further their practice.

As the focus of this session is to help individuals improve their existing techniques, each student should bring the following:

• Lunch (there will not be a formal break)

• At least two examples of recent work

• Acrylic paints normally used (don’t forget white!), and paint palette
  Brushes normally used

• A good selection of pertinent reference materials relating to the topic

There will be acrylic paint and brushes available in the studio if participants need, and canvas boards provided for the studies. Easels are available.

Notes about this workshop:

• Please bring your paints and brushes, and examples of recent work. This will help Virginia give personalized instruction for each participant based on their individual colour palette and style.
