Always wanted to try your hand at mosaics? This is your chance!

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of making a mosaic using chards of broken tile and other inert materials. You’ll spend the first two sessions puzzling together a mosaic design that frames a wall mirror. Along the way, you’ll learn about tile-setting and how to use a variety of tiling tools including hand nippers, diamond grit files and a score-and-snap tile cutter.

In the third session, you’ll grout your design and discover how great it looks unified by the grout colour. At the end of this session, you’ll have a ready-to-hang artisanal mirror to take home and enjoy or give away as hand-crafted gift. The only work remaining will be sealing the grout after it is cured in a week’s time (sealer and instruction provided).

All supplies included. Personal keepsakes and broken pottery from home can be incorporated into the mosaic work.
