Aurora Blossoms: A Celebration of Colour
EDGE GALLERY
November 7 - 29, 2025
Opening Reception: November 7, 5-7pm
My artistic process begins with alcohol inks, which I manipulate to create vibrant, fluid backgrounds. These abstract washes of color are my interpretations of the northern lights and the expansive skies of the North. I then use pressed flowers as a focal point, merging the spontaneous flow of the inks with nature’s delicate forms. This collection is an exploration of contrast, an interplay between the abstract and the tangible, the wild and the serene.
The act of creating is my way of finding purpose and a sense of self. Through the fluid motion of the inks and the precise placement of the flowers, I lose myself in the flow and find a deep sense of calm. This introspective journey allows me to grow not only as an artist but as a person. The resulting work represents this inner transformation, capturing both the colorful spirit of the Yukon wilderness and my own inner world.
