Searching For the Light
EDGE GALLERY
May 1 - 30, 2026
Opening Reception: May 1, 5-7pm
I create impressionistic landscape paintings purely for the joy of creating and celebrating the land. Living in a small village along the banks of the Yukon River is my greatest influence. Working solely with acrylics on canvas, I have been painting as a hobby for most of my life. I am self-taught and fumbling my way through the process just as my favorite subject to paint comes from fumbling through the woods, off trail, randomly following any whim and always seeking the light. Tumbling and crashing through willows is how I get inspired, feeling gratitude and joy from the smallest of leaves I witness dancing in the wind, with the light bouncing and clouds swirling in the distance. I have lived in the Yukon for 37 years, and this is my way of expressing the beauty all around us. A central theme is finding the light within the dark and chaotic.
