Blood Ties Four Directions
From the Margins
EDGE GALLERY
October 2 - 31, 2026
Opening Reception: October 2, 5-7pm
From the Margins culminates a year of arts programming at Blood Ties, featuring work created by community members who use substances and those with lived experience of marginalization.
Blood Ties is a harm reduction organization based in Whitehorse that supports individuals who use substances and people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, poverty, and other forms of marginalization. Through its programs and services, Blood Ties works to create safer, more inclusive spaces where people can access support, build connections, and participate in community.
Over the past year, with support from the Arts Fund, Blood Ties hosted a series of arts workshops at its drop-in space, providing opportunities for community members to develop creative skills and explore self-expression through a variety of mediums.
This exhibition features works created through these workshops, alongside works created independently by community members involved with Blood Ties. Together, they offer a glimpse into the creativity, perspectives, and lived experiences of the artists, and present a picture of perseverance, curiosity, and strength in the face of struggle and adversity.
